How do I keep my Agave cacti plant (century cacti) from growing too big. I want to keep it a small size.?

I heard that feeding it Rum will stunt the growth. I have a small back porch and need room for other plants.

if you planted it in the ground, the only way is to starve it with sunlight, water and nutrients, but there's a risk it will die without sunlight because these are desert plants. The best solution is to plant it in a small pot. Think bonsai.
