I usually just wash my clothes with normal Costco "KirkLand" deteorgant with cold water and dry my clothes in the dryer on low. After a while my shirts get kind of faded. The blacks are losing it's color. and i want to keep my shirts.

i mean i wear my shirt once and then i wash it. i don't rewear a shirt. so how can i keep my darks? i don't want them to fade.

what can i do?

  1. try washing them inside out. that way the wear from other clothes rubbing them in the wash will be on the inside. also when you first buy a shirt wash it inside out with about 1/4 cup of white vinegar. i find it helps set the colour and reduces the fading.

  2. you can use any extra  coffee or black tea add it to your dark cloths this will help.but u need to do this 1-2 time a month.  good luck

  3. You might be better off using a liquid detergent that's for cold water washes, like Cheer or Tide for cold water.  There are others too.

Also, it is helpful if you turn your dark colored things inside out before washing.  Ever notice how when you don't do that, as most of us don't, it seems like the "inside" of your dark clothes is darker and less faded than the outside part that everyone sees?  That's also because of the rubbing of the fabric against the other fabrics during the laundering process.

  4. If the shirts are 100 percent cotton, they will eventually fade no matter what you do.

  5. Woolite for darks in cold water is great.
