My dog eats the tomatoes off the vine from my garden! What can I do? She just knocks down or jumps over any atempt I make to fence in the garden. I tried commercial animal repelent that you sprinkle on the perimeter. I also tried hot sauce. No success... She waits until they're ripe and eats them!! I've only gotten 2 all summer!!

  1. give it a good old SMACK and say NO!!! it will soon stop cse it wont like u shouting at it

  2. You don't have to wait until the tomatoes are red ripe to pick them.  You can pick them when they are green and place them inside in a brown paper bag with a ripening banana or lime.  The ethylene gas the banana emits will ripen the tomatoes faster.  (This gas is also commonly used in grocery stores.)

This method will be better for both you and your dog.

  3. You can plant pepper plants near your tomato plants and the smell of the peppers will keep the dog and other critters away.  If the smell doesn't work they may eat one (won't hurt the animal in any way) and the taste will turn them off to the area.

  4. Taller fence

    Leash

    Training

  5. every time the dog gets near the tomatoes, holler out "NO" then walk over and kick it in the ribs...it will eventually get the point, with dogs it's about repetitions-if that  doesn't work at least your dog is eating healthy!

  6. anti-freeze.
