Question:

How do I keep my dog out of my flower bed?

She is digging holes in the bed and not necessarily disturbing the flowers. Help?

  1. There are lots of dog repellents on the market which will create a negative environment for the dog without harming him/them.  Repellents act through taste, smell or irritation to make things like flower beds less "welcoming" to nuisance animals.  

    I like Repels All from Bonide because it lists a lot of different animals including dogs on its label.  That way, if you scare away the dogs, you will not be overwhelmed with armadillos or some other pest instead.

  3. I've found that the best defense against digging is to put dog p**p on the soil surface. It really does work.
