How do I keep my hair straight!?

I have natural thick, very curly (ringlets), and shoulder length hair. I need a way to keep my hair straight. I live in Florida and it is about 95degrees outside and very humid. As soon as I get outside, my hair curls and looks terrible. I have side bangs too which curl also. It drives me crazy. Is there any methods you use to keep your hair straight? I don't really want to go out and buy a bunch of products. I have the basics (gel, hairspray, gloss, and styling cream) HELP!

  1. Okay, well, you can:

    1. Move North

    or

    2. Use heavy products to weigh down your hair. I suggest Head and Shoulder's conditioner [any kind will work, except for the volume!]. Another note on that, stay away from anything that includes the word "volume", which is just another way of saying "lightweight". I've heard a'many of good things about their Smooth and Silky and their Severe Dandruff collections [they're the heaviest ones]. Then, when you're hair is damp after washing, slick your hair with Garnier's "smoothing milk". It keeps those pesky flyways down with just one pump's worth of product and smells great [plus, it's cheap!]! Then, run a brush through your hair [a needle-type bristles or a comb] to even out the product. Blow dry and otherwise style as usual.

It's best to use the heavier shampoo/conditioner together because it'll keep you from applying a lot of product into your hair post-shower. I'm sure you know how gross your hair can get in hot weather!

    Good luck!

  2. If you want your hair to be permanently straight, like forever, you can go to the salon and have it done. I haven't done it before but I have heard of it.
