I have two big pots of lillies.

One pot has 11 lilly flowers the other pot has two.

When they bloom, they have a white flower, but lately the white flowers are turning green or dying all together.

How do I keep them white all the time?

  1. Lily flowers only last for a few days, and the each bulb's plant for a couple of weeks, depending on how many buds each has.   Turning green seems less typica, if they have already opened, as white,  though their mature colour is a often discoloured.  They will generally have their petals turn drier and brown, and then drop off.  Some flowers will form seed heads, where they have been pollinated, and it's your choice whether you dead head these or not - I prefer to, as this allows the plant's energy to be put into strengthening the bulbs up, ready for next year's flowers -which will be formed inside the bulb this summer.

Do you know which variety or species of Lily that you have?   I've answered this with the assumption that you have plants of the Lilium group, rather than other plants which are occasionally called lilies, such as Day Lilies, which is Hemorocallis,  Arum Lilies ie. Zantedeschia, or other plants.  This would help to identify what colour it should be.

Hope this helps.  Good luck!  Rob
