Question:

How do I keep my reading glasses clean?

I need to wear reading glasses for a lot of the day to work on the computer, but I'm having to take them off and clean smudges from the lenses several times a day. Is there a way to stop them smudging? Is it because I bought cheap plastic glasses from Wal-Mart and would buying better quality ones be easier to look after for me?

  1. Reading glasses get smudged no matter of their price or quality. By carefully placing fingers on the arms while putting them on or removing them, it may help keep them cleaner. Unovoidable is the oils of the skin, that  will create some smudges while they are worn. There are solution at the Optomstrists office, for cleaning, and treated cloths to wipe them down. I have found the best way of cleaning them is by washing them with some liquid dish soap and drying them with a soft lint free dish towel, in that way the glasses get claned as well as the frame and the arms.

  2. Just use a cotton cloth/rag (I use an old tshirt) and some rubbing alcohol. It works great for me. Don't buy "glass cleaner spray", it's c**p. It's basically watered down rubbing alcohol.

  3. Its not Walmart.

I have that problem even though I'm careful taking them on and off.  I really dont know why they get smudged.

I would use a little water, with a small cloth that is lint free or you get the fiber on the glasses and then you gotta clean them again. Use something soft.
