Question:

How do I keep my residence private on public property tax records?

I am relocating and doing all I can to keep my physical address private. I know they will not accept a P.O. Box as a street address. I don't want a certain person from my past find out where I live and he has used a private investigator in the past.

  1. I don't get it.  Why can't you have the tax assessor mail your tax bill to a P.O. box?  That is quite common.

  2. You don't there isn't anyway you can do that unfortunatley.

  3. It's public info.  But some areas that have the info available on the computer have the ability to block Internet access to some info.

    Good luck

  4. As bizarre of a solution as this may be...I would contact a local women's shelter. I would not do this over the phone - as they might think you are trying to find someone else... I would go there, tell them the whole story, and see what they can do and who they know. They know ALL sorts of secrets and tricks and are very helpful in helping one to "disappear"...They help many many women do this and they may have some ideas that I would never be able to come up with.

You may even be able to create an LLC. Although this would limit you from being able to deduct the interest from your mortgage, the public tax records etc I think would show the LLC name and not your name. The address would be public, but the ownership I assume would show up differently.
