Does anyone have any exercise ideas for me during Ramadan? One's that don't leave me gasping for air/water, because I want to keep my weight the way it is because I'm afraid that Ramadan this year will slow down my metabolism, causing me to gain some weight. Any tips? Thanks.

Oh, and by the way, I don't pig out at all during iftar, so yeah.

  1. I honestly don't believe there is anything  Wrong about taking advantage of this great month of Ramadan by trying to lose a little weight, or maintain it in your case. I wouldn't let anyone tell me that it's a shame to be concerned about my weight, especially in this month of self betterment and discipline.

Ofcourse, the spiritual, holy and sacrificial aspects of this Holy month should not by any means be forgotten along the way; but some moderate thought about how to benefit health wise from this month could be a very realistic approach.

If you can benefit from this  Holy month by losing or maintaining your weight, then good for you. Just don't forget that prayer, contemplation, reading the Qur'an, being with family, charity, and connecting with the Uma are the real benefits of Ramadan, alhamdulilah.

And also, in general if you want to keep your weight down or at it's current level, the key is just to be moderate. Alot of people tend to go overboard at break fast as if trying to compensate for a whole day's food intake. Try eating a regular dinner without indulging too much in extras and sweets. Drink lots of water.  Be moderate about what your eating and you will find yourself with great health. And what can teach us more about moderation than Ramadan? Peace and blessings
