The next door neighbors cat is always pooping in our yard (I have small kids-NO pets) and now that it is warm,we have a pool-the kind you inflate the rim & fill w/ water - now the cat has popped a hole (3) in it. The same thing happened last year,so both years we have wasted about $150 on pools. Any suggestions besides get a dog. Dont want pets.

  1. Have you actually seen there cat in your yard? are you sure its there cat and not another stray?  have you seen it put the holes in your pool? if so i would complain. tell them what happened to your pool, tell them to keep there cat in the house or out of your yard, A cats p**p can make a small child very sick. If they try to say its not there cat. then tell them your going to trap it and take it to the pound (take it to a no kill animal shelter please, its not the cats fault that its owners arent taking care of it.)

I think there are some plants you can put around your yard that cats dont like, but i forget what they are (sorry!)  Dont use Mothballs tho, they are very toxic, even to humans, and can also make your children sick.

  2. Mothballs and you can buy a pet repellant spray or pellets at the petshop. It is not harmful to them. Some smell like citronella and will keep bugs awy too.

  3. Red Ryder

  4. There is a product sold in hardware stores, called dog and cat repellant. You put it around the periphery of your property. I have never tried it, so I can't respond it its efficacy.

Talk to you neighbors ( if you know they are the cats owners ) and tell them you want to be reimbursed should this happen again.

Call a vet-they should have some good ideas.

    Good Luck!!
