How do I keep windows from sticking after I paint them?

  1. Let the paint dry thouroughly then put a thin coat of vaseline on the track.


  2. the trick is to only paint a portion of the windows at a time, letting the bottom halves dry before painting the top halves. If worse comes to worse, and the windows still stick, it is easy to wedge a 3-4" putty knife inbetween window and sash and free the windows. I wouldn't put vaseline in the tracks as it attracks bugs, dirt and will smear over onto the painted surfaces.
