I'm just recently reached my goal as playing on Varsity as a sophomore. but recently playing on this team has made me feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders as i try hard. the thing my coach is always on me about is staying consistent with my hits, and when they tell what to do i do fine it's just when they leave me to do it on myself i s***w up big time and as for my passing it couldn't be worst. that's really what my questions is based on what are somethings i can do to get out of my head and practice becoming a better passer at home. i have a VB court at home but i'm an only child so i gotta do stuff myself. so what are some things i can do to become a better passer on my own at home?

  1. The most common way I used to practicing hitting or passing by myself is finding an empty wall and hitting and passing against it. Also, if your parents are supporting, you could ask for their help in passing. Have them throw a few balls at you, see how well you can respond.

Also, you could consider joining a private or club team so that you can keep up your practice outside of school (if you haven't already.)

    Good luck!

  2. Invite some teammates over who need to practice their hitting too and practice with them.  I sometimes find a target on the other side of the net and try to stick to hitting that target or just pass in the air to yourself and make it a goal to pass the ball to yourself (like make a goal of hitting the ball 50 times, and if you make that goal, make it a bigger number).  Just keep focusing when you play and practice with the team, don't doubt yourself and tell yourself that you can do it, and that you are only proving it yourself and no one else.  Have fun!
