There are a few hornets nests around the area of my home, not to mention spiders and earwigs. What is the best way to get rid of these nasty bugs without hurting the good insects like ladybugs and the bumble bees that love the honeysuckle bush in my back yard?

  1. if they are not near your door

    leave them alone

    hornets catch spiders

  2. Wait until the sun goes down, but ther is still enough light to see. Then spray the nests wigh foaming hornet/wasp killer spray

  3. The only nasty bug is the earwig.

Ladybugs are good because they eat aphids which eat plants.

Bumble bees help pollenate the plants but also bore holes into lumber.

Hornets, like other preditory wasps, eat other insects.

    Spiders eat other inscects.

I would try to move the hornets nest.

first build a bird house but only one wall and the roof (roof should be one foot by two).  Mount it to a pressure treated 4x4 near the garden.

Transfer the hornests nest by using a scraper to remove it from the current location.  use Cyanoacrilate glue (CA glue) from any hobby shop to stick the nest to the new site.

How not to get stung.  Cigarette smoke onto the nest at night. Blow smoke into a plastic bag (like the kind with a draw string).  Move the bag over the nest and close the string.  Keep blowing smoke into the bag.

  4. i think id move house

  5. Spray it with bug spray at night time.
