I was almost able to stomp him but he's fast.

Try to catch him and put him outside. Otherwise just wear earplugs until he finds a girlfriend and leaves you alone.

Get a good indoor insecticide and use it according to the label directions.  Be careful, but you'll be fine if you don't over apply.  Check out products by Bayer, Bonide or Ortho for best and safest products.

saucer with water in it and he'll find it by morning. Then throw him out.  If you have him cornered, try some 20 mule team borax from the food store. A small line around him and he will be   dead. Stuff works great for roaches too. Haven't had any bugs in my basement since I applied it 10 years ago.
