Question:

How do I kill athlete's foot fungus in my shoes?

For the last month and a half or so I've been dealing with athlete's foot. Every time I think I've got it beat, it comes raging back. I'm inclined to think part of the problem is it's still living in my shoes. Is there anything I can do to my shoes to kill the fungus?

For what it's worth, I've been using Lamasil AT morning and night and changing my socks twice a day. I've also been wearing socks to bed every night and washing my socks with bleach.

The other thing that's bothering me is I don't know how I got it to begin with. I live alone, I don't got to a gym or use any kind of public wash room, I don't share socks or shoes with anyone. And I have never had athlete's foot in the past.

  1. I did have the same problem.

U need to care your toes. Do not keep your toes wet for long time. Use more sandal than shoes unless u get rid of your problem. Wash your Foot with Dettol and tepid-warm water before and after using socks. Use anti-fungal lotion regularly for your quick recovery

    Good Luck!.

  2. The first answer, I think, was the best. Just get rid of the shoes and get a new pair. If that is not possible, the only other thing that I can think of would be to either wash them in the washer with bleach, or spray the c**p out of them with Lysol, and then let them dry in the open air. Those darned plastic (pleather) sneakers are the worst!! They don't breathe at all. And if your feet sweat, buy sneakers that have cloth on the sides or tops. Good luck!!!

  3. You shouldn't wear sneakers and socks. Your foot needs to breathe.. Toss the shoes you wear and get a new pair.  I have had athletes foot 4 times. Once it was for over 4 months. Use anti fungal gold bond and lotrimun cream on your foot. Don't stay wet for long either

  4. I think you need to throw the shoes out and make sure you wear cotton socks so they can breathe
