I'm also looking for the least amount of chemicals, if possible.

Thank you!

  1. I just mix liquid dish detergent and water in a spray bottle and spray the insects directly.  After a few minutes they will all be dead and you should wash the soap off with water.  Soap is actually a fertilizer for plants.

  2. Lady bugs will give you short-term relief - but they tend to disperse within a few days.  Insecticideal soaps, and even dishsoap will work, but not a good idea the mint will be used in food preperation.

If you've got aphids, you probably have ants too.  The ants "farm" the aphids, protecting them from predator insects, and harvest the "honeydew" the aphids produce.

A good spraying with the hose will blast many of the aphids and ants off the plant.  Then manage your ant problem, and natural predators will move in to kill off the remaining aphids.  Also, if the aphids are localized (typical), prune away those leaves or branches so they don't spread.

  3. I use soapy water in a sprayer and soak the plant down real good for about a week.

  4. check out your local garden center

  5. Home Depot sells lady bugs in the garden center. Ladybugs love aphids they will eat them up.

  6. useing weed will make them stone loaded ,an they will go away.

  7. put 1 teaspoon of Windex in a 16 oz. spray bottle with water in it and then spray it all over the plant and wash the mint before you eat it.
