  1. Competition in today's employment market will continue.  One must insure a selected "degree" most beneficial for years to come.  A "degree" in any course of study is an "accomplishment" you have for "life".

"Business Administration" is a "broad" course of study for business.  It is a "selected" major by many who believe it offers a "diversity" employers prefer.  A BA is designed to "highlight" many areas in business, therefore, a student is not "in-focus" on one specialty.  A proven fact, BA degrees are the "simplest" of all business related and seen by many corporations as "entry level" when seeking employment.  "Diversity" may seem great but when students are only required to study an area of business "short term" this losses "effect" desired in today's business world.

My advice, stay in the field of "business" but specialize, i.e., Business Management, Business Finance, etc.  You will truly benefit with better opportunity, increased offers for iinitial income, advancement excellerated, and other advantages.  You need to also understand not only is a "degree" important, but to stay "competitive" GPA is a "highly demanded" factor.  3.0 or better must be maintained, this will elevate your status rather than be ordinary/average.

When I managed in a corporation and reviewed "applications" and/or "resumes" I would put each candidate in what I called "the regulars" (below 3.0) in a stack.  Above 3.0, in a stack, I would call these only and schedule an interview.  In every case I found "compatible" candidates and "employed", never again looking at those below 3.0.  I know for a fact from friends, successful, and positions "up the ladder" this technique continues.

Yes, a business degree is wonderful to obtain, but only if YOU can "stand out".  DO NOT be like others, focus on a successful course of study, maintain grades.  Stay "positive" in life and stop "hanging" with "negative" complainers.

Good Luck, you will do well in life.
