How do I know for sure that there is ick in my fishtank?

Recently, I've had some problems with one of my guppies always hiding and his tail looked a little ripped up and he had a little bit of white "gunk" on his right eye. I let it go for a day or two and just kept the tank nice and peaceful and he seemed to get better. Even the white around his eye is mostly gone, but my other guppies are starting to develop very tiny little white dots on their bodies. I heard this can also be fungus so I did a treatment for fungus because I already had the treatment from a previous tank, but I don't really know if that is the right thing to do at this point. Help?

take a picture of the problems on teh fish adn take it to the local petstore or vet. they should know what to do from there!!

This does sound like ich. Buy a special ich treatment and follow the directions on the bottle.
