I normally had $12,000 in aid, but then I got my final letter back and it said I don't get any Federal Pell Grant and my EFC was calculated to be 22,437. And it's about 24000 a year for tuitions. So do I have 0 aid now?

  1. It sounds like you don't get grants since based on your income your expected family contribution is $22,437 and tuition is $24,000.  You may only qualify for student loans.

  2. Your school will take the info off your fafsa and issue you and award letter.  This will detail what kinds and how much aid you will get.  With an EFC this high, you will not likely qualify for Pell, but prob will qualify for unsubsidized Stafford loans and PLUS (parent) loans.  The max amount of Stafford loans depends on your classification and dependency status.

Everyone qualifies for some form of aid.

  3. If you don't qualify for Pell then more likely you won't qualify for any aid at all, if you do it'll only be about a few hundred dollars.
