How do I know if I'm going to get money back from the school?

I heard people talking about it, but i heard some people don't get anything back? If i ask the financial aid department will they know?

  1. Yes, all you need to do is go to the financial aid department & ask them. They will pull you up on the computer & they can tell you right then & there if you will get any money back or not. That's all i did, & i'm getting back over $1,000 by Labor Day. :)


  2. Once you fill out your fafsa, you will contact your financial aid department to see if they need any additional information from you. About 3-4 weeks later you will get some kind of results back. If you get an award letter back you can just subtract your tuition from the amount of financial aid you are awarded for. The balance is how much you will get back. Except if you are awarded workstudy. If that amount is on your award letter that is money that you have to earn by working on campus. Also, if you get loans you have to go through the loan process if you want to accept them. If you do get money back, depending on the school it should be within the first few weeks.
