  1. Agnostic is when you believe God Could exist and are open to the possibility. Where as Atheism is completely shutting out God and declaring he doesn't exist and no way he could do.

As the last guy said, ask him!

  2. I don't know

Aww, come on peeps.  Thumbs down for this?  My statement is the very definition of agnostic - one who does not know, from a- (without) gnosis (knowledge).

  3. if you dont know then you are agnostic. you know that you are agnostic because you don't know. unless you are unsure that you are unsure which would make you an undecided agnostic which is bizarre

  4. An Atheist position claims sufficient evidence that God does not exist.

An Agnostic claims it cannot be proven either way.

I do not beleive in God, I think it unlikely, do not look for God and live like there is no God; however, I do not claim proof of the non-existence of God and so am Agnostic.

I am without god, but not anti-god in terms of proof.

  5. The evidence for the invisible God lies in the things that are visible.

    Go with your instinct.

'In order to get to know God you need to believe that he exists and that he will reward those who earnestly look for him'

  6. Ask him?

  7. That sounds like a definition of Agnostic; I wonder though what is your image of the God that you are trying to believe in? Ask Him to show Himself to you in some way.

    God bless

  8. If you're unsure if a god exists (as you claim to be), or if you believe that the existence of a god is unknowable, you're agnostic.

  9. Well, to be honest you sound more 'undecided' than 'agnostic'. Gnosis means knowledge - to be agnostic is to say, "I don't know," which is a stronger position than, "I think so, but I'm not sure." Please see the link for more details about the various subcategories of agnosticism.

Also, I'd like to correct a couple of other answerers; atheists don't necessarily say that any deity can be or has been proven nonexistent. In fact, many of us are also agnostics; we agree that it's not possible to prove the nonexistence of gods, but in the absence of sufficient positive evidence we take the position that there's nothing there. I can't disprove the existence of unicorns, bugganes or a chocolate bunny orbiting Mars, but I'm fairly sure they're not there either!
