  1. 1. Do they sound really loud? If so, they are too loud.

    2. You can listen as often as you want as long as they aren't too loud. Even still, if you use them for most of your day, try to use regular speakers as often as you can.

  2. THE best way is:

    1) if you can not hear others or your voice when listening to music, its too loud

    2) on an ipod or iphone the recommendation is around 50% to 66% of the volume.

3)if your your ears fell weird or buzz after the music it is too loud.

  3. Eh?  What did you say?  (just kidding)  Seriously, if your ears ring after listening to music, that's a sign of permanent damage and it means you really need to turn the volume down.  Headphones, especially the closed type, don't need to be loud because they shut out other sounds.  Noise-canceling headphones are better still.  Keep the volume moderate.  Nothing needs to be played at rock concert volume when you're listening to it at home.

  4. the way i can tell if I'm listening to my headphones too loud, is that I'll take them off after awhile and i'll feel slightly deaf. hope this helps
