How do I know if I got the right glasses?

Before I say anything else, remember that Im not talking about the visual appearance with glasses on the face, im talking about the optics, etc.

Recently got glasses and Im kind of worried because Im not sure if they are right. When I was getting the eye exam, the guy was going real fast and was switching a lot of lenses asking if it was good or not. Sometimes I got a bit confused because my eyes werent used to it, etc. So im worried If i messed it up.

The glasses cost 200 bucks and I dont want to complain to my father about it.

Without the glasses, everything far is basically blurry and I cant see anything. If I put the glasses on, everything becomes clear, very crystal clear xD BUT I still cant see very small details, like looking at the digital clock from meters away, etc. Im not sure if glasses are supposed to give you full perfect vision, or if they fix up your current vision. They dont really "magnify" much, they clear everything up and I can see some moderate sized test far.

  1. You should have the right prescription, or good enough.  I don't think anyone could ever shake the feeling that they may not have given the right answers on their eye exam.  As long as there was no extremely noticeable difference between the 2 choices, you should be fine.  Just go with what you think.

The clock?  Nobody should be able to read that unless it's in their face.

As far as the pain with nearby items, it might get better over time as your eyes adjust to being corrected.  Being nearsighted, your eyes are not used to working so hard to keep everything in focus.  Just ride it out and keep your glasses on as long as you can stand it.  If there continues to be a serious strain on your eyes, you should ask your doctor about it.

  2. Check to see what the warranty is on your glasses. Often, they will replace the lenses if the prescription changes within a short time, unless you brought in a prescription from

another place. If you just got them a few days ago, wait several more days to see if your confusion goes away. Your eyes may be adapting to the glasses.

  3. I know what you mean, I recently had the same experience,..the man seemed impatient if i asked him to do it again, he was going so fast..this? or this?....and id think well, maybe this way...then i asked, can you do it again..he kinda grumbled and did it again, but seemed mad. I wanted to be sure it was right..well, i cant see out of these. I am just going to go to a different doc ...but I am sure you can return them in a certain time frame.

  4. The examiner guy usually goes pretty fast. He's probably been doing it for a while. Don't worry about that. I think that you probably got the right prescription that you need since you see crystal clear with the glasses. You aren't going to be able to see EVERYTHING perfectly with the glasses. It sounds like you are nearsided (can't see well from a far distance) and if that is the case, you won't be able to see up close with them. They were only made for  nearsided eyesight. And as far as the magnify part that you asked about, I believe that is only if you get bi-focal glasses. Hope this helps.
