4 days ago I was installing the anti-virus my school provides for me and for the first time while it was trying to install the program Live one care, the program that my computer came with, said something about a trojan.Live one care would interrupt the progress of the anti-virus so I deleted Live One Care from my laptop and then scanned my computer right after to see if it picked up on it. It didn't! But then right after I started to notice zune program opening up without me doing it and so I deleted it. I can still hear like a little noise like that of the one you get in messenger after an IM in the background but I don't see nothing going on. It's annoying, and i have ran several scans. I don't know if I should just restore my laptop to factory settings, since it has been less than a month since I got this laptop and haven't had the chance to create restoration points. Has this happened to anyone? How'd you deal with it?

  1. To help your situation and restore your computer back to a clean state, I HIGHLY suggest you use ParasiteDB Disinfection Service:

    http://parasitedb.com/removal.html

They are good, cheap and reliable, and will give you a full refund if you do not get your problems solved.

Most conventional anti-virus programs are bad at virus removal. Trust me on that.

Let me know how it goes!

  2. go here  and  download it its the best on the web www.superantispyware.com if u like it u can buy it but if u dont want to buy it u can look for a crack or a patch

  3. I feel your concern. There are several free anti-virus and anti-spam proctection around. personally, i use Avira (www.avira.com) and AVG (www.grisoft.com). In some cases, you need more than one to tackle these culprits.

Now back to your issue. It has happened to me already. You have two options, 1. Fight the darn thing and 2. Complete image restore. It depends on your time as well. If you are up for a challenge and have all the time to muck about, then feel free to install all sorts of software to find and fight this thing.

If you are not so technically savvy, the image restore is the way to go. The CD provided by the manufacturer are much easier and user friendly these days. I personally restored to factory. Why? because I was not fully content that the culprit is gone from my laptop. I am a busy person and I get through by doing most through the internet, i.e. internet banking etc.

But before you head off and start restoring to factory, I suggest you backup your important data to CD/DVD/External HDD/USB drives. Also, invest on imaging backup software. I use Acronis Home edition (www.acronis.com) works for me everytime. Everytime I run into problems, I could not be stuffed mucking about and I simply restore my image which only takes 5-10mins and I am up and running.

For keeping your machine clean and optimised. I use CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) a freeware utility. I think CCleaner has the most active developers I've seen to make sure the software is at its best.

Also, I am an IT Manager for more than 10 years in the industry. Been there done that.

  4. Use a  free scan listed here. Try few to make sure :

    http://www.pcthreat.com/removers.html

  5. To make sure that you got rid of the trojan horse please install and run a scan using this spyware program. (http://www.superantispyware.com)  This is a very good spyware program as it protects and get rid of (spyware, malware trojan horses, adware, and some computer worms)  and it is Free, so get started right away ok. good Luck
