How do I know if a piece of contacts lenses is still in my eye?

I tore one and I'm not sure if I got all the pieces off my eye. Also, if there is a little piece left, how do I get it out. I think using my hands will be painful.

  1. if there is, it will come out like an eyelash.  Try flushing it with saline. Don't rub.

  2. You just have to look in the mirror and open your eye wide and if there are pieces still in you can see a tiny outline over your eyeball. If you do have pieces in your eye still just go in very carefully with your fingers and pull it out like you would pull your contact out. Hope this helps!!

  3. Rinse your eye well with your sterile saline solution or multi-purpose solution. Pull your eyelids up/down to get under them too.

  4. I've had this happen to me. I was trying to remove a lens and it tore in half. The remaining piece settled in place over my eye. It wasn't painful but I could feel it. I went into the bathroom and grabbed it with my fingers. I didn't have any saline solution on me at the time but it would have made it easier to get it off my eye.
