How do I know if a university if accredited?

All of the universities have some kind of accreditation online…

So what should I be looking for when looking into accreditation?

How do I know if it's worth it or not?

Search the site for it's accreditation.  It will list it somewhere.  Then google the US Department of Education's list of recognized accrediting agencies and make sure the one that accredited your college is on the list.  If so, it's really accredited.  If not, they may have made up their own accrediting agency so they'd look legit, but they aren't.
