I definetly want to be a middle/high school teacher..the question is what subject! I am so not good at math and english doesn't interest me let alone to teach it...Science is not my thing either (biology part)... I like history, but I really want to be a health teacher, but my friend (who's a teacher) said that I can get a job easier doing a general subject. What do you think...I like history ( i live in italy for now)...I am just not a history buff...but I wouldn't mind teaching government and stuff and thats in that area..

  1. Whaat inspires you the most?  What do you most enjoy?  This is what you need to consider.  You can often take certification tests.  If you have the knowledge about other areas, then many states and countries will let you teach them.  I, for one, got my teaching degree in history education.  I am now certified to teach almost everything--including health.  You have so many options open to you!  Go for it and follow your passion.  Remember the old saying: "Find a job that you love and you'll never work a day in your life."

  2. It's your life, not your friend's life. Are you willing to spend the next twenty years teaching history? If you want to be a health teacher, then that's what you should be. If there isn't an opening for that speciality where you live right now, you may have to move, but that's no big deal.Take a look around your history class, see how many kids in the class are really enthusiastic about history. Not too many.... That's what you'll be up against if you choose to teach history, so unless you are passionate about it, and can put up with kids who couldn't care less what you are talking about and are only waiting for the bell to ring, stick with something you will really enjoy.

  3. a teacher that  loves their subject and can pass their enthusiasm on to their students, is a good teacher.  what do YOU love???

  4. you don't 'know'. unless you actively chase a career you'll fall into something then wake up in 30 years time wondering what the h**l you're doing and wishing you could have your time over
