I have recently started collecting anime figures, expensive/rare ones, and part of me wants to open and display them and the other part wants me to just keep them in the box. What should I do?

  1. as long as you dont destroy the package its fine.

  2. KEEP THEM IN THE BOX! DON'T OPEN IT! KEEP IT IN A COLLECTION!

  3. This will come to a shock for many people but opened figures sell better than boxed figures anymore. Why? Because most people do open there figures and want to know if there are any imperfections, breaks , bad paint apps, missing/bent accessories and want to make sure that the toy doesn't smell like cigarette smoke...seriously...plus if you sell them online, the shipping cost if way down on opened toys. Locally I have sold more opened figures as the same price as unopened figures and everyone goes for the opened ones first to make sure they move correctly and nothing is broken. In the package it's pretty tough to see any flaws.

  4. I think the joy of having a rare collection is being able to look at them all the time and to show other interested people. I collect little crystal animals and birds and I have them all safely in a glass case. I can look at them every time I pass and because they are contained, they  are safe and also stay clean and retain their sparkle.

  5. If you think you are going to resell these keep them in the box. Since they are only going to be displayed and not played with, might as well keep them in the box.
