  1. go to the doctor...they have tests to figure it out

  2. ADD is seriously seriously seriously overused in our country, its actually a quite rare brain disease, that will light up a special monitor, almost every child diagnosed and medicated for ADD doesn't really have it.....

kids used to go outside and play, and do things, that we don't let kids do anymore..so that energy builds up and bursts in the house....making us think ADD

I seriously urge you to reconsider the ADD idea, that medication is terrible for kids....

  3. You should go to the library and read up on it. If you take her to the doctor, they'll just stick her on medication. If it's not a severe case, there are other ways to deal with it. My daughter does Tae Kwon Do, it really helps her. Teaches her patience, self discipline, and gets rid of all that energy.

  4. If you are concerned, a simple test that you can use is to tell her to do three tasks that are part of her daily routine.  (get dressed, brush your teeth, brush your hair)(pick up your toys, get your pjs on, brush your teeth).  The doctor told me that a child with out add can perform all three tasks.  My daughter can barely perform one.  I might tell her to go brush her teeth, and find her in the bathroom playing in the sink, or if I tell her to get dressed, she might stop and watch a tv show.  http://add.org/help/faqs.html  This web sight can help.  If you think your daughter has ADD, contact her pediatrician.  If she is in school, you can request an evaluation from school.  If she isn't, the pediatrician should send you to a child psychiatrist for an accurate diagnosis.

  5. Have a professional check her.  Talk to the pediatrician and see about a referral for a behavioral health specialist.
