How do I know if my neighbor's handicapped license plate is legal?

My neighbor is a scam artist. He is also not handicapped. One day, a used-looking handicapped plate showed up on his van. There is no designated handicapped parking so I suspect it's illegal. How do I find out?

  1. How about you just mind your own business?  You sound like that annoying old lady in everybodys neighborhood that has to know everything and be in everybodys business.

  2. Call the police dept and voice your concern. Include pictures of him and the van. Then again this is spying and vioates his constitutional rights.

  3. Get the license number, contact the DMV, provide the number and the name of the person that you think is the owner of the plate. The customer rep will look up the record, if the record belongs to someone else, action will be taken, however, since you are not the owner of the plate, you will not receive any info regarding action taken, it is strictly private information. You're call will be very much appreciated, oftentimes when a family member who had a disabled/handicapped placard/plate passes, a family member will keep it and use it, illegally. Also, in some cities, disabled plates/placards are sold for high dollars, parking privileges are a premium in some areas and people steal the plates/placards. Make that call. You also can contact the police with the license number and the name, they also can check the record.

  4. Is it really that much of issue since there are no designated spaces to take?

  5. A pal of mine could have one but hes not got transport  looks 15 years younger than his age of 74 fast walker no one seeing him would know hes been in Papworth twice awaiting to go in again and had 5 heart attacks to date

never judge a book by its covers

  6. Have a police officier run the plate number to see if it has been reported stolen.

  7. call the dmv and read them the number and see

  8. Do you even know he is not handicapped? Some people do have physical limitations that are not clearly seen when they are walking or out and about. I've known people to have them and there was nothing immediately evident of their disability until they told me.

Instead of looking to cause trouble, first find out if he is legit. If so, drop it and move on. If not, then maybe you should speak up. In reality though, it's really none of your business.
