How do I know its not a scam?

I really want to be an actress, im only 13 but i have been in 8 acting classes, 3 of them were individual classes where they help me alone. I even know how to make myself cry! BUT i am not sure what acting agency to go to, my dad says it usually all a scam! but there is this one agency, called proscout, and they say its not a scam and costs no money, if you know one please let me know!

In this world you cant have anything for free, unless its garbage, and its exactly what that agenct is, think about it how is he getting paid? If hes not asking for money, how does he pay the bills, Im sorry its a scam because everything in this world costs money and something like a agent is expencive, but you can look up agents in ur yellow pages books

Agencies don't cost any upfront fees. You don't pay agencies money until you get the job. Agencies send you on auditions and then typically get 10% of any money you made from landing that audition.

Go to http://www.sag.org/node/667 .. That's the SAG agency finder. Pick your city or state and a list of legit agencies will come up. You can mail your headshot and resume to those agencies and if you're as good as you say you are, you should get an interview no problem (depending on where you live, that is)!

proscout is not an agency, and they lie when they say it does not cost money, the first interview is free, but if you want to do to the real event it is very very expensive.  Find talent agencies that are franchised by SAG, AEA, or AFTRA they are not scams. Your parent will hve to sign your application for an agent.

it shouldn't cost you money to try to get an agent but once the deal is done there should be some sort of fee! i think it's probably a scam try asking your acting teachers about it. i'm sure they can help!
