How do I know know when pecans are ripe?

They will fall off the trees when they are ripe, which is in the fall. Sometimes it's good to pick them up and let them dry a little and they will have such a good taste.

Here in the south, pecans are ripe usually in October.  Please don't eat green ones; they can make you deathly ill.
