  1. Are you patient? Do you like kids? Are you excited about a certain subject? Do you want kids to learn but have fun at the same time? Than if yes to all these questions you will be a great teacher.

  2. -you like spending time with kids (in the non perv way).

-you want to spread knowledge of the things you already know.

-you like learning new things (kids teach you things no uni or college can)

  3. Try substitute teaching. That's how I learned I wouldn't be a good teacher :)

  4. Try to find a way to teach a lesson.

  5. Go to a school, any school.  Talk to the teacher of the level/classes you'd like to teach for permission to sit in one or two of the class.  See how the classes are conducted.  Ask yourself if you can, and will enjoying doing that on a daily basis.  Then you'll know.

  6. Substitute teaching is NOT a good way to find out if you'd like teaching.  It will ruin you.

There is room in education for all kinds of good teachers.  If you were Mr. A Honor roll, there is a place for you.  If you were a gang banger, there is a place for you.  If you were a sports nut, there is a place for you.  I love teaching.  I love getting crazy with my students.  I love using my brain every day.  I love getting up there and talking, even though it's not fashionable to say that anymore.
