What if I take such good care of my tank that my algae problem clears up? What will he eat? Will my tank still have algae for him to eat even if it isn't visible to me?

I hate to let him starve.

  1. throw in a piece of tomato witout the skin he'l love it and wen he stops eating take it out

  2. i've got two pleco's, ones grown fine, the others not grown at all, theres deffo enough stuffs in my tank and all the other fish are fine, so to me, it doesnt seem like anything to worry about :)

  3. If your really worried go get some algae disks.

  4. Feed your pleco an algae wafer each day just before you turn the light off.  That will deter the other fish from going after it and give your pleco a chance at his meal.  Good Luck!

  5. If there is not enough algae for you to see, there is not enough for him to eat. If all algae in your tank clears up, you can buy algae wafers to feed him. As he gets older and grows he will eat meatier foods like liver or bloodworms as his main diet and algae only as a suppliment.

  6. Well just put 3 algae thins in so he doesn't starve and gets more meal and it is natural for any fish to eat algae

  7. You should probably get a new tank. There'll probably be a small amount thats not visible to you but it'll grow each time because it is never REALLY gone.

  8. they make algea disks specifically for "grazers"  you ust drop a couple disks in, you an also feed plecos bits of lettuce, spinach cooked peas and other green veggies.

plecos will also graze on the food missed by other fish.
