How do I know what my TV's Screen resolution is?

Yeah I basically want to know how to check what my TV's Screen Res is like 720p or whatever that stuff is called. Thanks

  1. on my friends Polaroid HDTV. you can press info and it will tell you the resolution.


  2. Look at the owner's manual or the manufacturer's web site.

    This will tell you the pixel resolution.

    All HDTVs will accept 480i (standard definition), 480p (enhanced definition), and 720p and 1080i (high definition) TV signals.  Some of the newer batch will also accept 1080p.

    Regardless of the pixel resolution, the TV will accept and display these signals, with some conversion to fit your TV resolution.

    My plasma is 1024 x 768 pixel resolution so 720p is "native"  resolution and 1080i will be converted to display on the 1024x768 screen.
