it's usually quick depending on the seller. If you need to know when he's posted it just go to your item and it will say e-mail seller, leave him a quick note and he should get back to you.

I think you usually get a message in your ebay in box letting you know.  This does come directly from the seller though, so it is only as good as the seller remembering.  If you pay by paypal, then you have a better chance of getting your goods fairly quickly.  I pay by cheque so am usually surprised if the items appear in under a week as some sellers will wait until the cheque  has cleared before dispatching.  (I have a good rating, so most trust me now).

By checking the method of postage to get a rough idea eg 1st class is 1-2 days, you should also get an email when the seller marks the item as dispatched.

If you don't get this I always email the seller to ask them to let me know when it has been sent so you will try to be in when it arrives.

Communicate with seller.  And all e-bay products should be postedd with trackable meams.

Ask the seller for the tracking number for your item.
