How do I know when I've found the right wedding dress?

I've been looking for my wedding dress and so many styles are looking really nice. There are a couple that I really like quite a bit, but how am I going to know when I've found the right one?

You will just know.  You have not found it yet if you are asking this question.  Keep looking and if you are torn between 2 different dresses (this does happen), post pics of them and let us all help you pick which one is the best! Best Wishes!

Most women have a "this is it" moment while trying it on and looking in the mirror.  If you don't have that feeling, but found a few you like.  Try them all on again and see which one gives you that feeling.

When you find it, you will know.  Don't settle until you find the perfect one!

I know this is horrible, but you'll just know.  I tried on (I am not exagerating) about 75 dresses and didn't believe it when people said "you'll just know it when you try it on" but you do.   I was looking at the dress, not my face, but my mom complained that I didn't look really excited about any of the dresses but when I tried on my dress I chose she said my eyes lit up and I had a little smile on my face.  So it's a physical feeling thing, not just mental.

Edit:  Micampelle - You hit it spot on, it is exactly a this is me feeling.  I always felt that the dresses that I tried on were really pretty dresses but that they didn't necessarily fit me and the feeling when I tried on THE DRESS was a this is me one.

When you put it on and look into the mirror, you will say, "Wow, this is me."  You will just know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you and this dress were made for each other.  When in doubt, do without.

You FEEL it.....

I personally felt like the fairy godmother came to wave her wand on me and transformed me into a princess, right then and there.... I felt.... magical.... awed..... beautiful.... speechless....

Oh, and try on dresses they show you, even if you don't like them on the hanger, cause I never thought THE ONE would be the one I overlooked in the magazine.... and the one I loved in the picture, looked horrible on me!

My goddaughter started crying when she "knew" - and it was just a gut reaction to the right dress for her.

You will just know!  You will keep looking at yourself in it and you won't want to take it off!!  Its just a feeling you get and you'll definitely know its the one!!  Good luck!

It's sounds so cliche but once you try it on you will know.  I had the same problem and I didn't even get my dress zipped up and I had to have it!  So keep looking, your dress is out there somewhere!  Good Luck!

You will just know.  It's a feeling that when you look into the mirror :)  I looked at many dresses.  I thought that I wanted a ball gown puffy bubble hem gown.  But, when I put it on I realized that it just wasn't me.  With that said I went today for the first time and bought my dress!  It's a mermaid style with a bubble hem!!!  Love it's very couture and chic!

I knew mine was the one because I didn't ever want to take it off. It has everything that I wanted in a dress. Strapless, simple but not to plain. No beading and whatnot on the bodice, a chapel train, and satin covered bridal button all the way down the back. I love it.

You'll just know. It will feel right.

you will know when you have found the perfect dress because you will feel sooooo comfortable in it you will not want to take it off. good luck

A lot of people say that you just know. I know that I certainly knew that it was the dress right away - and it was only the second dress that I had tried on.

Narrow down your choices a little bit. Then maybe you could ask the sales people to show you some similar styles to the styles that you like...and also be sure to try on styles that you never thought you would like. My friend hated the Mermaid style dress; someone at the bridal shop talked her into trying it on. She put it on and sure enough, that was the dress! She knew it right away too...

Don't worry - the perfect dress is out there.
