How do I know when to put in my credit card info in order to buy what I bidded on, u know what I mean?

It's like I thought I had my card linked up to it, and now there's this weird limit thing of 500 and soemthing else but I signed in with a 25 dollar visa gift card. I looked on the gift card and I still am not sure how to give the seller money. Plase help.

on the item you bid the seller lists what types of payment he accepts, he may take credit cards or accept them thru paypal, e-mail the seller and ask him about the payment options/
