A couple ppl have told me not to make the mistake of buying lots of bottles for your baby bc he might not like certain nipples, etc. Same goes for passifiers. I dont know when to buy bottles and have no idea as to what type to get! Drops in or regular? Curved or straight? Brown nipples or clear? Ahhh!

I've heard that Dr. Brown's bottles are great... ???

  1. i bought six gerber wide bottles and my baby didnt like them. i had to go out and buy different bottles. my daughter uses the avent bottles and they work great. i really think its a good idea to get the wide bottles they are so much easier to clean and so much easier to scoop her formula in them.

My cousin uses dr browns bottles and they are so hard to clean becuase they have so many pieces to them. And its really hard to get inside the tube that runs threw them.!

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. 1st...  Always get the clear silicone nipples because the brown rubber ones absorb things easier, dry out, are harder to clean and have a funky taste to them.  Don't believe me?  Suck on one.

2nd...  When I had my oldest, I used every kind of bottle you can think of.  The best ones I found for newborns are these ones:

It gives you a good base set to start with.  You shouldn't need much more than that at first.

Later, you will want to go to these:

Why?  Because...  The older the baby gets, the more bottles you will lose.  In the car, in the house, at the store, at the park, at the doctor's office, on the bus, etc.  These ones are cheap, easy to clean and do their job just fine.

  3. Well you wont know what nipples your baby will take til it tries them right? I never had a problem with any type of teat with my daughter, she wasn't fussy at all.

  4. I think that what ever one they are used to is the one they will take. Some babies are picky when they get older and will not take a different nipple.

I would suggest using silicone nipples(usually clear). They don't have a funny taste like latex does. The drop ins are easy to use but you have to keep buying them.

Yes, Dr. Brown's bottles are great. They work well for us. Dr. Brown's come in BPA free if that is a concern for you. There are a few extra parts to wash though.

  5. i LOVE playtex ventaire advanced and my girl does too; they come in wide and narrow; we like the narrow, she took to it right away; she didn't like the avent...i wouldn't suggest cheapo bottles, bc u want something that is going to reduce air in the baby's stomach...these vent through the bottom so that air doesn't have to come back through the nipple to fill the vacuum from baby drinking...good luck; and only open and clean one pack of whatever you choose, that way if they don't work out, you can take the rest back and try again...we didn't have a prob, these were the ones i wanted her to use anyway, the avent kind was a gift so we tried it...

  6. well which bottle/pacifier do u think is best for ur baby and doctor Brown's bottles are really nice the big straw thing in the middle of the bottle is to help reduce air to ur baby stomache

  7. I use the Playtex Drops Ins.

I have nothing to compare it to but I love them!

Playtex Drop ins is a healthier choice because it is the only bottle system that uses a collapsible liner that you dispose of after each feeding. A disposable bottle system: Is convenient and sanitary because the liner is tossed away after each use. Uses a pre-sterilized liner with every feeding to prevent germs and time-consuming sterilization. Allows you to minimize the air in-take that can cause painful gas and other stomach discomforts.

You are not going to know what your baby likes until you test it out. I tried a few pacifers before she took to a certain one which is the "parents choice" pacifier. She never had a problem with the Playtex Drops ins

  8. This is what I did. I bought a few different bottles(drop-ins, avent, dr browns, and vent-air wide nipple). My little one didn't like the dr browns nipple I think it was the shape. The avent ones he likes but he couldn't get  a good seal around the nipple. The drop-ins and vent-air wide nipple he likes allot, and so do I. They use the same nipple and they help with the gas. My son also likes the silicone nipple (clear) better than the latex (brown). If you plan on breast feeding and bottle feeding I recommend a wider nipple such as avent or playtex drop-ins. Get a couple of different brands and see which one you like the best. Only get one bottle of each that way you don't spend allot of money. save receipts that way if you find a bottle that you like you can take back the unopened ones. Good luck with your search.
