Question:

How do I know which crank arm puller I need?

I am fixing up some bikes for low income kids in the neighborhood and need to pull the crank out of one. It's a cheap Chinese made Huffy mountain bike and I can't find any information on what type of puller I need. It looks to have a square shaft with threads in the crank arm where a puller would s***w in.

Is there a puller that works on a majority of these cheap bike cranks so I can get the most use out of it? Thanks for your help.

  1. park

    pick one

  2. Parktool and Shimano both make great tools.

Lifu makes good tools too and at half the price.[give or take]

My Shimano cable cutters are my fave.

My Park cone wrenches ,I cannot live without.

My Lifu crank extractor is the most versatile crank puller I have used and can easilly be carried in a toolbag when riding.Contains 14x15mm Sockets and 8mm Hex Key for Crank Bolts and Crank Arms Removal.

Sure the Shimano and Park are better but not as versatile, nor as affordable.

I hope this can be of help

  3. any crank puller will work on your crank obviously the more you spend the better quality you will get but dimention wise theres no difference
