Were is the best FREE place to learn Python? and what else should I do, because I want to start programming...

go through and familiarize yourself with the official documentation and beginner's guides and links at http://python.org/doc/, then move on to Dive Into Python at http://diveintopython.org/toc/index.html

really the most important thing for actually learning any language is to apply it immediately; get started on a project using python so it forces you to learn. keep the library reference handy

Did you try using google to search for a website?

That being said, I think you should just shell out 15 bucks and get a beginners book, you'll learn the same things, but won't have to sit in front of your computer to learn it all.

And to answer another question I'm sure you'll want to know the answer to, yes, free python IDEs are easily available on the internet.
