I'd love to become a shoalin monk because I'd love to devote my time to my god's, but, I'm a Christian and I'm a bit young to be making choices like that.

But, I would, however, like to learn different monk attributed styles of kung fu.

I need to know, are the techniques of monks in general kept secret and where can I learn all the different techniques you hear about (mantis, monkey, tiger, snake ETC.)?

(I have researched all the aforementioned styles and yes, they are real.)

  1. work on your praying and meditating, and see if they'll take you in.

  2. The only Shaolin Temple I've been able to enter and learn Shaolin Kung Fu from actual monks at was at the Song Shan Mountains in China's western Henan Province. Although nowadays it's becoming more and more of a tourist attraction and I can not be sure if they still teach people. You're welcome to try and see if they still do. (Providing you're planning to visit, or live in China.)

Your religion will hardly matter if all you want to learn is the animal styles. The "religion" is for when you want to build around the philosophies of which ever martial arts style.
