How do I legally get a Refugee into the US?

I know a wonderful upstanding human being who has been displaced by all of the fighting in Iraq. He has fled iraq and is now a refugee in another country. Does anyone know how to legally start the process of getting him into the US????

You need to check with your local immigration office...

go here:  http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

but don't expect special treatment because he's from iraq.  indeed, expect even more scrutiny.  he'll need a passport and a visa.  good luck.

he applies for the appropriate visa at the US embassy or Consulate in the country he is at, or the nearest one he can get to.
