How do I let him know I'm interested, better yet, in my case - SHOULD I let him know?

Alright, so, here is my dilemma.

My father, divorced, lives with his girlfriend - a wonderful woman - and they've been together for probably 5 to 7 years now. Anyhow, over the last 3 years, I've started attending her family's holiday functions as my Dad's guest. My dad's girlfriend's family is wonderful.

Here's the thing. At these family functions, I find myself incredibly drawn to her nephew.

Now, everyone in this scenario is an adult, I should stress this and my Dad and his girlfriend have no intention to ever marry (both divorcees, don't see the point in remarrying, are happy with the way things are).

Her nephew is just, he's incredible and we get along and we flirt but there's a sort of mutual recognition that it's bittersweet because of the situation.

So far, neither of us have been bold enough to ask the other out but we've been beating around the bush now for the past 3 years - I guess we're both hesitant because of the my father and his aunt issue.

The thing is, I'm not just attracted to him, he's someone I could potentially have a future with.

Is there anything a girl can do? How can I confront the nephew/let him know that I'm actually open to the idea in a tactful way?

OR... on a general opinion scale of 1 to 10 how weird is all of this?

What's weird about it? You aren't blood relatives. Go ahead.

I don't find it weird at all, I think it is wonderful that you may have found someone special. I believe your father and his girlfriend would feel the same. Just remember, even if they marry it shouldn't effect you two because there is not blood relationship between you.
