How do I list a podcast?

I am not very knowledgeable about computer terms and such so please spell out every step for me. Write a how to list a podcast for dummies. :D My friend and I made a podcast and we want to list it on iTunes for others to download. Thanks for any help you can provide!

To get  listed on itunes,  you need to upload your podcast to the internet somewhere. Since you are beginners, I recommend using a web host that is there just for podcast hosting. For practicing, there are free ones. You could try

http://podbean.com or http://mypodcast.com

If you want to store past episodes or if you get any listeners, you will need to buy storage and bandwidth. Expect to pay $5.00 a month for that.

After you upload your podcast to the website, you'll be given a special code called RSS or XML. It's just the web address of the podcast. To submit it to itunes, open up itunes on your computer. (If you don't have it yet, download it from

http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/ ) Open up itunes store and scroll to the bottom where it says "submit podcast".

You can use software to create an iTunes compatible podcast. The software will automatically encode the podcast feed for you. I would suggest FeedForAll, there is a free download at http://www.feedforall.com (there is both a Windows and a Mac version).
