I have a small reaspberry patch in my backyard, and this year I noticed a few more bees and on a daily basis. I think I have identified them as the honey bee, and I would like to locate the hive for reference. I have several children in the area and I want to ensure that the hive area is left alone. How can I locate it

  1. Bees are known to travel a tremendous distance to get to their food sources, so, you may have no chance of finding their hive. They also tend to stop by multiple plants on their route to collect food.

However, they are pretty structured in what they do.  I would bet that the bees that visit your yard all leave in the same direction.  If you spend enough time to study where they go after they leave your yard, you will get the direction they are traveling in.  This could be more food, or their return trip to the hive.

    Good luck!
