So I have kind of tight achilles tendons and lately the upper part of them has been kind of hurting. Not totally painful just a bit uncomfortable and a little sore. They may be strained a little from keeping my heels way down in horse riding (which I've been doing every day) I do some exercises for them that the doctor told me to do during track but field hockey is coming up now so A.How can I make the slight pain go away.. and B.How can I loosen the tendons. Thanks

  1. I snapped my achilles 4 months back and so am also experiencing a tight achilles  that can become quite saw.

I have learnt many things from my physio that the best way is to stretch it and warm it up. Short calf stretch, then doing calf raises putting hands against wall with feet back, going up and down. Alfter doing this for a bit, shake ur calf with ur hand while dangling ur leg, this helps loosen it up, then go back to some more calf raises.

I then get on a exercycle to stretch it out and strengthen it more. 10 mins of that and it should be a lot warmer, looser and provided u don't push it too much, should be less pain.
