  1. very good diet, extercise, if your looking to lose weight before a sport starts i wouldnt worry about losing the whole 40 lbs to start at your target weight, lose as much as you safely can then let the sport take care of the rest

    if that is your issue

  2. not a good idea to even try. you could do permanent damage to your body. find a good healthy regimen an stick with it for the rest of your life.

  3. For sports (further down, I answer for being out of shape, I lost 37 lbs in 4 weeks):

I was a varsity wrestler in high school, freshman year, I weighed 135 and was skinny as a rail but wrestled 114.

40 lbs is a lot of weight to drop.  We used to run and weight lift and wrestle until we were about 1% body fat then we stopped eating for five days before a match and stop drinking anything 2 days before and run around in plastic sweatsuits then lock ourselves in a locker to sauna and sweat and lose more water weight.  (they weigh us to determine who we will wrestle)

For physique reasons, 3 years ago at 44 years-old I lost 37 lbs in 4 weeks.

I do not recommend it to anyone. My wife did it much smarter. She lost 43 lbs (baby fat from having four kids) in one year. 18 lbs in three months and 25 in the next 9 months. We were 44 years-old. First of all, it is a lifestyle change: Eat less, Do more. This is a little lengthy, but here's how we both did it:

She and I started playing Dance, Dance, Revolution on a Playstation 2. First for 20 mins then quickly working up to, her 45 mins, me 1:15 mins (order the metal pad after you break the $20 ones).

I was also doing alternating workouts of:

Upper body: 20 push-ups, 20 15lb standing bicep curls per arm, 20 15lb sitting vertical presses per arm.

Abs: 40 crunchies, 20 side lifts per side (one hand on the ground, hips in the air and lift as high as your hips will go then back down), 20 vertical extensions (lie down, extend your feet vertically until you're on your shoulders) , 20 side twists per side (one elbow on the ground, hips in the air, twist until your free elbow is above your arm)

One day I would do 3 times upper body and 1 time abs, the next, 3x abs, 1x upper body.

After 1:15 on Dance, Dance, Revolution, I switched to running 3 miles, the rapidly to 4 then 5 miles in 45 mins.

We also ate very lean foods: chicken salad for lunch with no dressing, Costco USDA choice filet mignon for dinner, fruits, vegetables, no noodles, no rice, no bread, no desserts, no sodas, no fast food, no cheese, but we splurged with a Margarita made of two fresh squeezed limes 1.5oz of Cointreau and 1.5oz of Sauza Hornitos or Jose Cuervo 1800 and French Mouton Cadet red wine with dinner every day, no other kinds of alcohol especially not beer. I tried to stay at 3,000 calories/day or less.

You won't be losing a pound a day. You will hit discouraging plateaus where you will be working out hard and not lose any weight for 3-4 days then suddenly you'll drop 5 lbs. Get the Tanita Atheletic scale that zaps you with electricity to measure your body fat. It also displays the caloric intake to maintain your current weight, you'll, of course, have to eat a lot less than that.

I got down to my high school weight of 140 and am 6'1". That was three years ago. I lost some muscle weight and built it back up, so now I'm 150 lbs and I only work out once every two weeks or whenever the belt feels tight or I need to feel great, but I do 25 reps 3x for both upper body and abs with 20 lb weights.

  4. You cant. It is impossible.  The most you can lose is 2 pounds per week and that is 8 pounds per month.  You should have started exercising and watching your food intake 5 months ago.

  5. That is extremely unhealthy, but i can help you.

See, i am a model, and i have to loose a ton of weight in a little amount of time.

And if you drop dead or faint, i am not to blame.

    So heres the diet-

1 or 2 times a day eat leafy vegetables, a handful of peanuts, and a serving of whey protein.

I do that for a week and loose about 7 pounds.

  6. I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of toxins. Toxins come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The toxins get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the toxins by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://losebigweight.com

  7. 1 lb of body fat is 3 500 calories. If you want to lose 40 lbs you want to make a 140 000 calorie deficit. If you want to lose 40 lbs in 28 days, it means, that you need to make a 5000 calorie deficit every day. Which is pretty much impossible. It would mean that you would have to eat only 1000 calories a day and burn 6000 calories by exercising. That's like.. impossible.

Well, of course losing 40 lbs in 4 weeks isn't impossible, because you can lose muscle mass and water weight aswell, but it's very unhealthy and torturing and chances are that you'll end up being in starvation mode and gaining double the weight back, which may end up in low self-esteem, stretch marks etc.

If you need to do it for sports, ask your trainer/teacher, what you're supposed to do.
