Question:

How do I lower my PF Usage?

Unlike some other people who have asked this question, my PF Usage is way higher than others. The highest I've seen it go is 5.34 GB, near full.

Right now I have rebooted my computer and stopped unused processes. The PF Usage right now is at 582 MB, CPU Usage at 25% (using internet), and the PF Usage is gradually rising. Is there anyway to prevent this?

Here is a user with a similar problem: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060722081220AADuwyb

He said he ended the process that was causing the problem, but I can't find one that's causing mine :/

  1. Your computer may be low on RAM. This is usually why PF's grow so fast.

How much RAM do you have?

You may also want to delete your PF and defragment your hard drive. IF you have multiple drives or partitons, move the PF to another disk. This is commonly known as a RAM DISK.
