I'm transferring video from a PV-GS320 - a MiniDV camera. I've set all the settings to their lowest setting. What else can I do to lower the file size of the videos?

  1. DV format video is about 13-14 gig of hard drive space.

Get another (external or internal - depending on your camcorder) hard drive. When the video editing is done, Save as... and compress it to whatever you want.

Warning: lots of compression = reduced video quality.

  2. Nu'uanu is correct, though there were a couple of typos - MiniDV uses 13-14 GByte / HOUR, and the choice of internal or external drive depends on your PC, not your camcorder.  For most people, 90% of what they shoot is completely useless - you can reduce the amount of disk space you need just by being selective about what you're going to use.  Also, bear in mind that you don't need it all on disk at the same time.
